Provisonal fund raising job at the Metro Centre

We have managed to secure a date to raise funds for the band on Saturday 19th December (pending our completed application) - pencil it in to your diary. The Band performances are likely to be between the panto perfomances (oh yes they will!)

It'll be an ideal opportunity to put on a decent showcase for the band and to help bolster the coffers for much needed funds for the band - we'll need loads of collectors.

Band job at Airport hotel

Just to remind everyone there is a Band job on the evening of the 4th December at the Brittania Hotel near Ponteland International meeting at 7.30 - Sandra says don't be late!!

Friday 20 November 2009

A Big thanks to everyone that turned up and performed last night. The organiser has apologised for the waiting around - but they were particularly impressed and appreciative of the Band turning out.

Over 1000!

Thanks to everyone has visited - I do intend to update the site when I can - it's going to be a little while as I have missed my window of opportunity.

I intend to add a visitors guest book - a profile link from the 'meet the band' (I do have a few interesting ones to add) and I'm also going to create a Friends of the band page. Any other suggestions welcome.

In the mean time I'll add photos to the album and comments on here to entertain you!

You can now make comments on these articles easier than before (Pleaee do!!!) - you don't have to register as a blogger - you can just click on comments and type away

Message from Ronnie

Better late than never

More really good pics of the Band from the Pub crawl - again courtesy of the Band photgrapher Diane - Proves that the sun did shine this Summer - Can you remember it?

New Section for Band Members

I've added a new section in the 'Band Members only' area - called CRAP JOKES - I had set this up on account of Jim's random whiticism's. However, Allan seems to have taken the biscuit! By the way Tom - I think he is due for a change of reed due to the anti-Sunderland (Premiership Club) slant to some of his gags.

By the way hope the barcodes have a nice day oot in Blackpool and Doncaster!

Monday 14 September 2009

Peebles

Another great trip out - last band off the field (with Hawick) last band out of the pubs (without Hawick!!!)

Highlight of the day had to be Tom's rendition of Father Abraham and him nearly losing his kilt during the chorus - I'm probably going to regret this comment but what the hell I hope someone took pictures!

The Waltzing Matildas! (Greengrass and Joe)

Adam and Matt - Have a safe journey home - keep in touch - we'll post the best pictures of you online (post Jaegermeister and Snakebite....)

NOT!!

This is the Drum Corps

This is the Drum Corps............Nuff said

New pictures from Cowal in the gallery - courtesy Of Diane

Tuesday 8 September 2009

The Drum Corps is on fire!!!!!

Mick took this picture of Thomas practicing at the weekend - If you are going to practice this much - stay away from the brussel sprouts/mushy peas/Onions/Chicken Curry(half rice - half chips and a bag of prawn crackers!). It could be a recipe for a nasty accident!

Wednesday 2 September 2009

Cowal

It sounds like a good time was had by all it looked like some were still recovering last night! - Well done to the band for a creditable 6th overall and special congrats to the drummers - Outstanding again.

Matthew's haircut!

It must have been a case of dragged screaming and kicking - but he's now sporting a GI Joe style haircut! (Only joking he looks very smart)

After speaking to Thomaslast night he has got a new idea to take the drummers to the next level - after going to the Military Tattoo - he saw some drummers playing while their drumsticks were on fire! Time for the asbestos gloves!

Sunday 30 August 2009

Back from the Emerald Isle

Well I've been to Ireland and kissed the Blarney Stone and just missed everyone celebrating at Brampton.

Missed both the competitions at Melrose and Cowal - If anyone has got any pics - please get them to me and I'll happily post them!

Quickly skipped over Melrose as I cannot comment - (I'm sure Tom and Neal said enough!) Well done to everyone at Cowal - more silverware - Drummers sitting pretty in second in the Champion of Champions - not bad for only going to 4 majors and not being placed in one.

Big question did you play the Grade 3 set marching down the road at Cowal?

......and has anyone got a copy of the latest DVD of the Red Hot Chilli Pipers (saw some of it in Gretna and it looked quite good!)

Monday 24 August 2009

RSPBA CHAMPIONSHIP TABLES

despite a dissapointing result in the finals at the worlds, it is pleasing to see that the band are lying 11th in the championship tables, with the drummers a very worthy 3rd. A good result at Cowal games should see us well into the top 10 as a band, and a possible move to 2nd in the table for the drummers.

Good luck to all who will be competing at Cowal Games.

Sunday 23 August 2009

Melrose results

All members played, and finished 8th out of 13 bands.

Saturday 22 August 2009

Thursday 20 August 2009

BIRTHDAY WISHES

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PETER SAVAGE.....
ANY GUESSES AS TO HOW OLD HE IS?

Sunday 16 August 2009

Worlds Result

Well done everyone - Winning heat and 12th place in the Final - I think everyone was disappointed with the final placing as the performance seemed to be far better than the result. It was certainly well received by the watching crowd!

In an attempt to crack the system it's been suggested that we change the Band name to Drumaville O'Malleys Memorial Pipeband - See you at practice! Please wear green!

Friday 14 August 2009

The Worlds

Good Luck to everyone going to the Worlds - Forecast for rain so don't forget your wellies!

I'm on holiday next week (the land of the Leprechaun) and I will be posting some of the completed profiles and making some alterations to the website when I come back

Tuesday 11 August 2009

Publishing posts

If you would like an article posting on the general blog - get in touch with Allan or Peter and we will post on your behalf - If you just want to comment on any article you can use either the shoutbox to the side or click on comments - if you want to add a comment you will need to select a format - choose the google account option and register as a blogger!

Saturday 8 August 2009

North Berwick competition

good luck to the band for this competition, its killing me not being there.....aagghhhh

Thursday 6 August 2009

Update

Just for your info - you'll have noticed there are now adverts on this page with tenuous links to the pipeband - if you click on them we get a small donation so the more people that use this site and the links the more money we will raise! Don't get too excited though it's not vast amounts so I wouldn't be booking that holiday just yet!

Please use the shout box to the right - its an instant messaging service!

For your entertainment I will be publishing some of the profiles that you have completed on this page - I am going to anonymise them - so you can all have a guess at who they are!

For those of you that have access to the Band Members area - I am hoping to get Tom to comment after each competition - so that you can get some feedback - Don't worry I'll take the expletives out

Wednesday 5 August 2009

Money raised

Over £1100 raised over the weekend - Well done to everyone involved - I think it's fair to say some venues were better than others - Personnally I enjoyed the Quayside and the Diamond at Ponteland and I reckon the couple that paid for Highland cathedral in the Badger won't forget that for a while!

Monday 3 August 2009

European Faux pas!

Never let it be said that the papers get it wrong, but in tonights Ronnie Gill the band has been proclaimed European Champions and we are off to conquer the World.

Anyhow nice picture of Little Thomas (again) - He will be at Waterstones on Friday signing his new photo album for punters (with Matthew and Malcolm!)

Please use the blog

You can either 'shout' with the bar to the side - pretty instant or comment on these posts.

I am going to add further novelties to the site - including an album of pictures of the pipeband members abroad - I'll need a copy of the pic and a clue as to where it's at!

A question to get you going - Does anyone know how much was raised over the weekend?

Sunday 2 August 2009

Pub Crawl

Well done every one for yesterday - it was a long day - I hope we raised loads of money! More of the same today - By the way Sunderland 2, Celtic 1 - You beauty!!!
